Bear with me on this build boys as this saw is gonna take some time and trials. She's an odd duck. You'll see why here shortly! Here's my guinea pigs. On brand new and one just slightly used. 20151028_114119.jpg

The used one is my saw. I like to build in pairs my first go at a saw. And when I first looked into the new saw I'm like O my I see lots of potential and potential for a jack up. Lol. So I might as well jack mine up first if it happens!

First thing I did was cut .030 from the base. Now on this saw like I said it has a dome piston so in this case I cut the sq 20160114_122105.jpg uish band at a 3° angle. Notice the funky combustion chamber. The squish is now set at .020" :)

Here's where the intake sets at bdc. Pay close attention to the lower ring end location. 20160114_130825.jpg

Pic of the roughed in intake. I widened it to 55% notice how I angled the top corners down to allow plenty of room away from my ring end. Now the main square of this intake is opening and roughly 73° and tapers quickly to 85°. 20160114_142520.jpg

At first I thought about epoxing this intake. However it has a really small carb and intake tract. Kind of like an 036 stihl. And an 036 likes lots of intake to make up for the tiny intake system. So with that in mind I worked with it. So here's the intake all finished up. I call it the superman intake. Lmao. 20160115_161732.jpg

Next are the trans. These trans are a mother f***er. I set them at 125. Why. Well they have 11° blowdown stock. I've noticed on several other builds the higher the exhaust the more blow down you need. That and a lot of quad ports like the 346xp like 15° blowdown. So basically I'm pulling it outta my butt. When I ground the trans. The tunnels ended up horrid. I was thankful I could pull the covers and fix the tunnels. 20160114_145758.jpg 20160115_141023.jpg

I bet I have 5 hours in these trans alone. They are not fun. Period. And while these are the prettiest work I've done. I think they will function very nicely. Here's a pic of the transfer insert hince part of the tunnels after I reworked it. Much smoother flow. I was bit able to match the intake trans angle. It was just to steep but I did my best. 20160115_142032.jpg 20160115_142032.jpg

Pic of the final trans. Again I'm not super happy with how they look but only so much I could do with the transfer inserts. They will still fully function like I want just not look quit as pretty! 20160115_161707.jpg

Last but not least the exhaust. Now I raised this to 110°. As a rule of thumb I take a 50cc saw to 105. However I've already raised this one from 120-110 so that's a pretty healthy jump. Baby steps. Lol. And it was roughly 55% width and I took it to 65% width. But left a nice gentle sloped roof on it to ensure ring longevity. But here's the final pic of the exhaust. 20160115_161723.jpg

On the muffler. I'm sorry I forgot stock pics but it's pretty simple for the first go. This little pipe is bolted on by the deflector. So I took the defector off. Took these parts out and threw them in the trash and opened up the front of the defector. Pretty Genta for initial mod. I will probably add a port as I progress. 20160115_164745.jpg

All that said she is back together and I've put about 5 mind run time on it. I'm hoping tomorrow I can get some cut time comparisons in but we will see. The saw is still very well behaved and actually starts easier. Excellent throttle response and it is stronger. How much? Well the vids will tell.
