Mrs MikeinMa brought up the subject about having no ideas what to get me for Christmas. So we decided that each of us should get what we want, within reason, of course. It was brought to my attention that these were on sale for $99.98, at HD. Knowing just a little bit about them, I figured I'd need a hose, air gun, and multiple adapters/fittings to make them work. I was changing a saw chain yesterday and thought how dirty the saw itself was. So, a compresser and air gun is now mine. Off to read the manual.
Those are very handy. I have a small portable air compressor that I take with me in the truck, to have if I need to fill up tires in the woods. Plug it into the trucks house outlets and I can take care of most inflation issues. My compressor can't run tools really, but short air blasts work better than nothing. That one should do the trick a lot better than mine.
very handy thing to have Harbor freight has a decent selection of guns that are pretty cheap to buy and mine have lasted surprisingly long for the price paid.
Great gift Mike. My friend has the same one. I still have my 30+ year old Bostitch one i use for work on occasion. I have a small one i use to fill truck/wheelbarrow tires when needed. Never got a blow gun attachment though.
Thanks Horkn. I liked this idea so much I just ordered one on Amazon to throw in which ever vehicle we are taking to the cabin. This site sure is good for ideas, and .
I plugged it in today. The manual said to let it run for 30mins, without building pressure. So, I did that. Assembled the hose, gun, with adapters. Everything seems to work fine. I just used it enough to familiarize myself with using it. Look out saws. The gunk is now mine to remove!
I had to air up the old crappy wood trailer that had full size truck tires on it. It was way back in the lot. The tires were as flat as could be. Luckily the beads were set still and they both took air. Two tanks worth of air ( 2 gallon tank) each and they were full enough to haul the old trailer where it could be picked up for scrap. It was putzy, having to drive the ATV back to the truck and wait for the tank to get filled 3 times after the first tank but it worked. I take this compressor on every road trip, along with a plug kit. It fits in a plastic milk crate along with the patch kit and oil and washer fluid.
A compressor essential in the garage. I have one of those pancake compressors for remote light stuff, and an 80 gal for the shop. I couldn't do much work without one.
I always thought that a chainsaw and compressor were a package deal... I can't imagine having a saw without a compressor. It's kinda like having an O/A torch set without a welder, a tractor without a bush hog, a mower without a grinder... I could go on all day... A mouse trap without peanut butter ( Scotty Overkill ), a spade without a shovel...
Congratulations ! Merry Christmas !! How Many amps to start it ???? I'm looking for a small compressor that my Honda EU2200i can easily start. Even if the compressor is somewhat cold . 0°F . I got a 4 gallon DeWalt 2 years ago because it said on the box it would start and run on 18 amps. Nope , never would. It makes my Honda EG3500 watt genny grunt hard starting it. Always has. Now that I'm doing smaller projects in the house , I use my trim nailers and staplers. Including the little Arrow PT 50 stapler. Which I use A Lot. Unfortunately I have to fire up the big Genny to run my compressor. Thanks .
It's listed at 12amps. I plugged it into one of my outside outlets and it came up to pressure pretty quickly.
Oh Hey. If it's listed at 12. It should start fine . I can easily run my hypoid and worm drive framing saws with the 2200i generator. Thank you very much !!
