im looking for a Mcculoch 795! My dad had on when I was young, he is in his 70's now and I asked him if I could have the old saw since he can't use it any more due to his poor health. He went looking for it and can't find it. He and his brother bought 2 brand new in 1966. His brother has since passed away and I would love to have that little pice of my child hood back even if it's not the original one he or his brother bought in 66. I have seen old post of those thing being sold on here. I don't know what the market is like for them but I can rebuild it if it's in bad condition!

    Perhaps thistle knows of one?

From what I've seen, the 797 is much easier to find.

Yup they were sold starting a year or so before the slightly bigger 797. February 1966 to May 1969.Starting in April 1967 until the end both were available at the same time.

They do seem to be scarcer than the 797 or Super 797.Though the 797's aren't easy to find now either compared to some years back.

I lucked upon my real nice 795 in September 2015,first one I'd seen in probably a year. With the exception of the piston/cylinder and a couple other things - most parts between the 795/797 are interchangeable.

Unfortunately I don't know of any out there for sale right now, sorry. You could check Another Site & elsewhere on the internet for any leads.PM me & I'll get what info I know.

There's a nice 790 on Ebay right now from seller in Canada, same 103cc displacement as the 795,just 2-3 years older.Very little difference between the 790/795.

Certain parts such as the handlebars, oil tank, starter housing, lower rear handle brace/support,flywheel housing, fuel tank etc are interchangeable between the 790/795.Plus a few other small incidental ones such as bolts & nuts etc.

Chainsaw Guy/Saw King on You Tube.Call Rich Dougan in Canyonville,OR 541/643/1646 or at his shop 541/863/5387

He normally has quite a few vintage saws of various makes in his collection for sale.Plus a stock of New Old Stock & good used parts for several brands.A McCulloch guru he's extremely knowledgeable in that area.Ask if he has a 790/795 for sale.I haven't talked to him in a while so I have no idea exactly what he's got as inventory.

Plus Ebay is a good place to search,I check there often for various saws & parts

They should also be the same since both engines are 103cc displacement. But they might have different part numbers possibly.
