Whacked a standing dead maple quickly today. Took one load prior to this, but it was a small tree, roughly 12 inches in diameter. Great day to be in the woods 0FA0F0E5-71C1-43DD-AE6C-1FB4F179CAC8.jpeg 2CEB6D7B-F124-4339-9AED-4972E6042348.jpeg DE16F142-F19E-4587-8D2C-4598FA767457.jpeg

Awesome. There is something soothing about being out in nature. Hope to get out to our cabin to do some milling next weekend!

will you burn it this season or for next? Nice set up with the 4WD. Did you fell the huge cherry with all the tangles/vines?

Burn this the year after next or thereabouts. I am
Holding off on the cherry till I can get my tractor and winch closer. Hopefully later this Month.

Thought of your post from yesterday..interesting coincidence. Unstacking a pile of seasoned splits against a maple this afternoon, there was a small 2" dead sucker growing off the base, banged it with my foot, it broke off above me, dead vine held up top part and middle whacked me in the side of the face. Geez, no saw of axe involved. Did we PO the wood gods or something?!

Must be, Saturday had two huge near misses for me. Aside from the widow maker, I went slip sliding with the chainsaw in hand. Threw it, but it scared me for a second
