Nope, other than a small engine sales/service shop in Hallville (a very small hamlet near me) started selling Mahindra tractors around 3 years ago or so. They look nice, about all I know about them.
http://m.mahindrausa.com/why-mahindrawhy-Tractors And Mahindra Tractors - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia No mention of Mitsubishi. I did know they were from India.
It's been a long time since I've seen one in the flesh. The ones I was familiar with were simple, reliable machines. Cosmetics and fine details (of which their were few) did not age as gracefully as some others.
Mahindra did recently enter into a partnership with Mitsubishi: Mitsubishi Heavy Industries and Mahindra enter into Strategic Partnership in Agricultural Machinery Good machines. Getting to be about the price of the likes of Kubota, Deere, etc. around here.
I bought this mahindra max 24 hst last year has been good to me so far. It has a 60 inch deck, post hole digger, and a 48 inch tiller. Mine is built by Mitsubishi and has a 5yr warranty. They have the emax serious that is cheaper and uses daedong components. It pulled the log splitter all winter and never hesitated to start in single digit weather.
I don't have any experience with a Mahindra. The only advice I will give is to make sure of your dealer when looking at any smaller brand. The requirements for having a franchise are less than for a major brand- JD, NH, Case, Kubota, etc. I have seen several smaller concerns start carrying tractors locally that really don't have the mechanical knowledge and facilities to cover a major repair to a "lemon"- every brand has a few problem examples.
I had a 35ish HP utility tractor about fifteen years ago. It was always trouble free, and I wish I still had it. Hydraulics were strong. It always started in the winter, though I had to let the glow plugs cycle a couple of times if it was really cold. I had to sell it when times got bad. Close friends sold them, and only had one warranty repair in the ten years or so that they sold them, a front axle seal. They quit selling them for the same reason I sold mine. The economy around here was heavily dependent on the auto industry, and when things went in the toilet people just quit buying them.
My father in law bought a 38hp 4010 last year. Really likes it. He hasn't had any problems but it's only been a year. The guys at tractorbynet seem to know their stuff if you are looking at specific models. Good luck with your purchase
We have a dealer right here that seems to sell a bunch of them. He also sells LS and TYM tractors. Don't really know much about any of them but seems like people are buying them. Kioti Deere New Holland and Kubota dealers all within a mile of the place and he's got the most inventory on the lot. Still don't think I'd trade in the 1976 Belarus 820 with poor steering worse brakes and lots of hydraulic leaks for anything pretty though.
I looked at them before I bought my Kubota 3 years ago. They seemed OK but the fit and finish wasn't nearly as nice as Kubota. Little things-like if you take off the front end loader there is a built in place to store the pins so they don't get lost or the quality of the hardware. Before you buy one take the time to price it against a similar Kubota at Barlow's in KT. They delivered it to my door for 3500 less than any local dealer. The other thing is resale value of the bigger names is ridiculous.
Nice toys ktoom ! That's maybe a little bigger than I'm looking for right now. Does yours have the tier 4 engine? Is it made by TYM or Mitsubishi? How do you like the controls? Price OTD?
I have heard to avoid the 4 tier engines for a while or find a leftover. Not that their bad just not around very long yet. From Kubota forum, Orangetractortalks. Mine is a 80's B7100 Kubota several thousand hours, still wont die.
You can find a lot of good info on tractorbynet.com. When talking about the "tiers" it gets a little complicated. You could say my motor is tier 3 in a sense, but i really believe its more so tier 4 compliant with not major funky emissions stuff. Im a little rusty on all that stuff. My tractor is actually made solely by Mahindra. Yes some mahindra's are made by mitsu and tym. All are still great tractors. My tractor is more the deluxe version as far as features go. Its a 35 series tractor. My only gripe is that my loader joy stick has a lot of slop in it and there is no fix for it. Other than that i love everything else. Im gonna say all said an done we were $32000 otd. That included tractor, loader, land pride 84" york rake with wheels and 6' land pride bush hog. Another thing you must factor in is that if your financing the mower through mahindra, you will have to pay insurance up front for the loan/tractor for the full term of the loan, so add that to the bill. If you use the Mahindra 0%, the price of the tractor is more vs if you buy with cash or use another finance company. When i shoping, i had a few spread chits from mahindra as to how i wanted to buy the tractor whether i financed or paid cash.
I spent a couple of hours at the local (read 1:15 drive) Mahindra dealer. SUPER NICE PEOPLE! I drove and otherwise worked out the 1533 (built by Mitsubishi with the new Tier 4 Mahindra mCRD engine) and 2538 (built by TYM with the new Tier 4 Mahindra mCRD engine). The 1533 is a very sweet package with excellent fit and finish and capacities, similar to the flagship JD and Kubotas, but at a similar price. The 2538 is a whole different story. It's a total beast at >3000 pounds with a wup@ss FEL and great specs. However, it is pretty rough in the controls department. Kind of like a wild tiger. Honestly, since I'm a novice myself and my wife needs to use the tractor too, I'm thinking it may be "too much" tractor for us. (O.K. I should just turn in my man card right now for that last sentence ). I think the next stop is to bring my wife out to drive some Kubota L series tractors. Much more "civilized" beasts.
