    Morning shift of 2.5 hours had four saws going most of the time and two guys splitting, that got it all cut, afternoon shift was me and one other guy splitting and chucking for 2 hours

    I'm sure you have said before, but how many cords do you normally run through the boiler in a season ?

    In a normal year, I burn 10/15-4/15, and burn that whole lean to, 17 cords. radiant floor heat and domestic hot water

    To be more accurate, I’ve never actually run through every piece, in a mild winter I might have as many as two cords left, but on average probably less than one cord is left. And since I burn whatever I get free, the species of course varies widely. A whole lean to of oak or locust might only take 14 cords. All maple and I might not make it etc…
