In the Menard's ad for this coming week I see a Brute 22 ton log splitter with a regular price of $899 on sale for $799. In addition this week they have 11% off everything so this would bring the price down to $711.11 after the rebate. This is an amazing price to me as it is considerably lower priced than the 20 ton splitter we purchased well over 20 years ago! I have never used nor seen one of these Brutes in action nor do I know how well they hold up but just wanted others to be aware of this price. It seems it could be difficult to go wrong buying one of these, but check it out if you are interested. It comes with a 208cc B&S engine, 13 second cycle time and can be operated using either horizontal or the right way, vertically.
Sounds like a heck of a buy to me! Thanks Dennis, I'm going to forward this to my son. We have Menards 25 minutes from me. I could go get it for him. He knows he is welcome to mine, but were are 25 minutes apart, and being a young strong 40-year-old, he usually just splits by hand.
Vert. The Backwoods Savage direction. But my wife will occasionally run the splitter horizontal and I don't argue....
I don't think there's a whole lot of difference in most of these 22 ton splinters. That's a good deal, paid 700 for mine, used. Valid Jan 08, 2017 - Jan 14, 2017 https://www.menards.com/main/outdoo...e-reg-22-ton-log-splitter/p-1459185168444.htm
Agreed She has her own milkcrate and cushion, and if it gets too hot in the summer, I know to bring out the box fan and position it close to her
I'll be the first to tell you that 99 lbs enjoys running the splitter. She works the controls, I handle the rounds. Ain't that typical though? Women and control and all that?
Looks like a good deal and all, just curious to know if fluid is provided as I know most are however that would certainly change the bottom line price if not. Just might be helpful for prospective buyer to know.
I did not keep the ad but I think it was included. Would have to check with the store. But even without it, I think that is a great price.
It doesn't say in the ad or the online listing if it comes with oil or not, you would have to call to be sure. The add, Menards
Menards splitters never came with oil before, and also unassembled, at least year before last when I was trying to get one.
