Unlike many of y'all, I burn my wood "longest" split to "youngest" split; as I've not reach Nirvana yet...........................to be 3+years ahead on CSS wood.

Anyhow; I'm into some ash now...........2+years CSS............very, very, different burning characteristics from burning mostly box elder and silver maple this Winter. Doesn't seem to burn as hot/fast, but it sure burns longer, and my flue temps are lower as well.

    I love my ash!!

Yep I am sure that 2+ year split ash is doing a fine job for you. It's good stuff

In my experience, ash seasons quickly and burns long and even. I am a fan.

I operate the same way. FIFO. Burn the wood in the order that it was stacked
