Got down to take a look at the recent free wood find. Will take a bit of work to clear a path to the bigger stuff but looks like a decent amount.
Was able to drive to the pile and cut a little load of small stuff just to clear the ground a bit.

On the whole it is easy wood to get but still a decent workout for an old fart. [IMG]

Nice find! Any firewooding is work, but easier firewooding is better in my book. Keep us updated with your progress.

Do ALL the trees out there have moss on them?

Some of those trees show a whole lot of north!

Pretty much a given they will have some moss on them. Not an issue as what doesn’t fall off makes it easy to get burning once it is dried. Kind of like a built in kindling.

In our woods, there is moss everywhere. On rocks, bushes as well as the trees. When you live where you get almost 100" of rain in a year, moss thrives.
