Looks like they have quite the selection now. . . A Super premium Softwood

I really wish we had more softwoods in my area. Heck, I wish there was just MORE of anything in my area!!?!?

Every year I email some of the better pellet Manuf that are very close to me (Turman, Hamer, and Country Boys) and ask if they can push harder in my area? Ain't seen them yet. :smoke:Still waiting..

I'm still hunting these, And will post a review once I do!

The Golden pellet SP will be available at pellet houses/dealers. Both the local house's I have carry Energex. But still no sign of them at either house! CTpellet probably won't even bother because of all the other good stuff he carries. Prolly doesn't have room for another.

IMHO they are a little late to the show in New England. But could probably make a killing in the states that aren't getting the BC softies!

I actually inboxed Scott the other day to see if he carried these (hardwoods) to please hook us up with the UPC...he has neither. I saw online that CJ's pellets carried these but Scott said they went out of business in the Spring and he bought all the assets but no Golden's to be seen. He said they advertised it online to get customers in and then went to sell them on Okies or something. He said that wasn't the way to do business which is probably why they aren't anymore.

I was contacted by one of the Energex reps a while back asking me who was my local dealer for Energex. I told them CT was closest and Scott told me he won't market them. So that was the last I heard. Was hopping for samples to test this season. I'll try contacting Energex to see if they have something in my area. But it looks bleak due to all the other top shelf brands the dealers are stocking. Energex isn't considered a high end pellet in my neck of the woods. So they are going to have a struggle getting dealers to jump on board. Scott is one of them. He basically said to me he wouldn't bother with them. Not a lot of detail on why, But I sensed issues between them and didn't dig any deeper. :zip:

Energex will probably send samples to Rob, At woodpelletreviews.com sooner or later. I'm sure he'll say something good about them!

I'm going to have to road trip and get some of those Golden hardwoods and see how they compare to my Turman's. I would consider Turman "Super Premium" without a doubt.

Energex must not be PFI labeled as all the PFi labeled brands have dropped the SP grade and removed it from their bags. I don't think Turmans call them SP anymore since PFI dropped the SP grade. But they still are in the SP range in what I have sampled. Turmans rock!

That's what part of the problem is with PFI....some pellets that had the labeling/designation were complete crap in my book.....Turman had definitely been the best I've ever burned.....
