As the title says its a mac 110. I know absolutely nothing about these. I haven't researched at all yet just figured I'd ask quick to see what anyone knows. My dad handed it to me awhile back to see if i could get it running. Haven't messed with it at all yet but kinda getting in the mood. I figure I'll tear into the carb and give that a good cleaning first. What if i need a carb kit? Are they still readily available? How about a bar and chain?
I have several bars and chains. They are basically a later model mini mac. People will tell you they are junk but I've had like 8 of them. They are pretty snotty little saws. Easy to work on if you know the tricks. I had a box full of parts but I gifted the last mini I had with all the parts to a member here. This is yours if you want it. I assume it's a 3/8 lp saws as only the very early model was 1/4 pitch. They are A318 bar mount pattern. Carb kits are available. If points a chip can be installed.
You can still buy new air filters and the rubber seal that goes around the carb inlet and under the filter. They take a proprietary fuel line / tank attachment. I found two nos units on line. One is in the box of parts mentioned above.
Pm me your address. We might not be that far from one another or I can mail you the bar if it's to far to drive. Mrxlh Feel free to show of the lil ripper. Lol
Eggshooterist well it looks like you're gonna probably motivate me to work on it sooner than later. Lol. I love other people's enthusiasm sometimes. We'll hold off on that bar n chain for the time being. Make sure i can get it running first. By the way, I'm in Buchanan.
I get up that way dirt biking on the orv trails by Muskegon. Probably not anytime soon but we'll see how it all works out.
They are great little saws. I restored one last year and use her quite a bit on trimming deer trails.
I had one of these that was my dad’s. I remember fondly helping cut camping firewood with it. When I got out on my own I wanted to get some camping wood but couldn’t get it to run. My boss suggested that I give it to a local guy who was supposed to be good with saws. Turns out he WASN’T good with saws and “f’d” it up pretty good but sold me a new bar and chain. He didn’t hook up the oil line and didn’t get the little gasket back around the carb inlet and air filter. It just got ignored for many years and then I started to get interested in saws. Tried to get it going but no luck. Finally threw it in the iron pile behind the shop. I wish I had known about this group and seen those Donny Walker videos back then. If’n I ever run across another one cheap I’ll darn sure snag it
Update: Moving some junk around behind the shop today and the stepson found something buried in the weeds that looked like a chainsaw! I thought it got hauled off a few years back. It is actually a 130 and the engine is stuck but I’ll probably hang onto it now for parts in case I find another fixer upper
