Hello everyone, sorry I haven't been on much. You know me, I'm always busy! I've been rebuilding a mini skid steer specifically for our tree stuff for the past two months, thats on top of real work and my tree escapades. I'm looking at building an auger powered splitter, so of anyone has/finds/sees at Stickler or other big cone for sale reasonably priced, please LMK. Also looking for a standard-flow auger drive.

The mini skid I got is an old OMC Mustang 312, I've already repowered it with a Honda GX620 v-twin, totally rewired the machine and am still in the process of adding an auxiliary hydraulic circuit for the grapple bucket and auger attachment. Installing counterweight pockets in the rear for the heavier big rounds as well. Should be a good little machine for my purposes.

If yinz know of any cones/auger drives, please let me know.

    Isn't she cute?

Old Kohler 18hp flat twin being replace with the Honda GX620 V-twin

Heres the Honda all set up with the stub shaft and dual pulleys for the drive motors. Also made a new harness, fabricated throttle and choke adapters as well as a bell crank to use the Mustangs original throttle controller

Fitment was tight but worked out.

Awesome repower! I bought my cone directly from Atom splitter and it is a much better design than the stickler in my opinion.

What are they at now? I ordered mine without the extra cone and it was less than 300.
    Although that was years ago.

That has gone up a bit!
I just bought the cone part without the pipe reducer welded on and finished it myself.
And if you are thinking that reverse would be handy in case it gets stuck remember that the tip part is replaceable and will unscrew and stay in the wood. Experience talking.

Yes they recommend you use red loctite on the threads.

Probably not big enough for your needs, but my dad made a screw type splitter years ago. We still have the splitter, with the screw tip end, I think.

Wondering if the shaft telescopes through the bearings?
This was meant to be a reply to Dave's picture, sorry.

I'm liking the fire pit skillet with the 4foot handle.
