Buddy of mine gave me this saw when he cleaned out his late FIL’s shop. The cool thing is it was made in Ashland Ma. Two towns over from me. Does anyone know the vintage of this? And does it have any value?[IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]

I've only seen one like that but it was a long, long time ago. Took 3 men and a boy to carry it around too.

Looks like a late 50’s early 60’s style saw. I’m not sure on the model. I’ve seen a few 2-man Lombard’s. Cool saw congrats!

I don't have any input and searched today at break and lunch with no luck. The wonder 650 is very similar but I can't find anything with the enclosed chain drive.

Your saw looks like a cross between a direct drive 658 and the gear drive 681, I'd lean more towards it being a gear drive version of the 658, possibly the same gearbox used on the 681 and others, though the 681 used the Power Products AH-81, yours has a Power Products AH-58 as did the direct drive 658. 0.84 (32).jpg 0.84 (31).jpg

I wish I could help, but I haven't any info on the Lombard line. Looks to be in good condition, and worthy to attempt a running restoration on!

Sounds like we are almost neighbors. Mendon, here.

Oh - interesting saw, even if it's future is as a decoration.

As crude as these oldies are, some were made quite well, I've found over the many years of being a small engine mechanic, almost 45 years worth now, these old Power Products engines usually require very little to bring them back to life again, and for what they are, they do an adequate job, lately I've gotten back into some of the earlier saws, I now have two that are powered by the AH-81 engines and another on the way, even though they don't really cut all that much faster than even an AH-47, they're just very cool to run and are getting harder and harder to find, here's a direct drive version David Bradley I picked up recently, had it running the same day I bought it, super loud and super cool...lol....I also have the gear drive version of the same saw with the AH-81 engine.....:) IMAG0672.JPG IMAG0673.JPG
