I am shopping for a new splitter looking at wolfe ridge high output ,eastonmade 9-16, timberwolf tw-5 but I also saw a american log splitter and was wondering if anyone has one of theirs I also am getting a elevator 16ft as a package deal from whoever I buy from I was impressed with the galtech hydraulic valves on the eastonmade I have replaced quite a few of the prince autocycle valves on customers splitters because of detent trouble and most everybody else uses the prince valves Thanks in advance for anybody's comments JB

The detent issues on the Prince autocycle valves-
I almost consider these to be like a chainsaw carburetor (pre Autotune or M-Tronic). They may need adjustments from time to time but are so sweet when “tuned” that they’re a joy to run.

I’ve used an American splitter. Well built machines for sure.

You’ll probably be happy with any of those brands, man.

Any of those splitters will serve you well. My father in law and I purchased a tw-5 several years ago and have been happy with it. I am about 6’2” and my only complaint is that it sits a bit low for my height. Perfect for the father in law though at 5’8”. I think Erik B has one of the American splitters, and may be able to weigh in!

Are you talking about American wood splitter in Black River NY? I have one of those that has served me faithfully for the last 30 years. I’m not sure if that’s the same as American Log splitter or not though.

They are in honeoyo Ny real nice people to talk to they said they have been making splitters for 50 yrs its tough to buy something on just a picture I hope some of the timber shows are on this year so I can see up close I have seen the eastonmade and it is a tank but I need to stay within a 16000.00 budget for the elevator and splitter JB

I went on the American log splitter website & looked at the splitters. They look exactly like mine. Maybe they changed they’re location? I’ll try to get a photo of mine to post later today.

It has been a good splitter for me over the years. I had to replace the engine a few years ago when the original one self destructed. It is listed as a light commercial unit. DSC01594.JPG DSC01597.JPG Second pic shows the new engine on it.
