I finally broke down and gave the $70 for the log catcher for my 22 ton Dirty Hand Tools splitter. It sure is nice to have. It also protects the engine and pump from falling logs. Glad I bought it, I just feel like it should have been included with the splitter.

Money well spent IMO. It'll pay for itself in the long run :)

Not sure if it was standard but my 27 ton Ariens came with double catchers and i'm thankful it did.

My 27ton DHT came with the catcher. Didn't know they sold them without it.

I think it's just the unit's at Lowe's that don't come with the catcher. I'll probably put one on mine this year, it get's old bending over to pick up the splits that fell.

I just re-purposed a pallet to use as a catcher. It also works great as a saw tuning table

Good move on the log catcher, you'll like it.

I make a second table by rolling a couple rounds stacked to the left of the foot of the splitter and use them to place a half of a really large piece. Bust them up and throw on pile when done.

Great investment! I did the same thing on my Ariens 22 ton. Saves your back and protects your engine.
Yours has some nice holes in it, I like the look of it.
