We keep our firewood right outside on the porch and I've been hailing in an armload at a time. Only problem is setting it down on the hearth leaves a mess every time. So the wife got me this tote, works pretty good so far. Mess stays in the bag. Time will tell how durable it is.

I have been using a similar canvas one for a long time. It does contain the mess. I either take it back outside and dump it or shovel out of he the tote and into my stove. The big trick that I have found to is to use two of them to balance the load on my spine, carrying one on each side. You can definitely carry more wood easier if you spread out the load.

I like the idea, but the multiple trips in and out would bug me. Thats why I converted a hand truck into a wood hauler, it holds about 10-15 regular size splits. Mine will make some mess but I do the sweeping right afterwards, and I only have to do this every 3 -4 days

Havent loaded the stove yet from the bag but it should be close to a full load. The stack on the porch is only 10 feet away so not far to go just wanted to contain the mess.

I have 2 log bags, sometimes I use 1, sometimes 2, wouldn't be with out them, they help keep down the mess a lot

I got a nice log carrier from target for $1o and Im going to go get another one I love it no more carrying wood in on my arms and the mess stays in the bag for the most part or at least just around the hearth. No more sweeping from the garage to the stove.

Just reloaded and the tote full filled up the box perfectly. Really helped with the mess so I'm happy.

I used to have a canvas tote that was open on the ends , was quite convenient
was quite old when a handle finally ripped off
now I just use milk crates which are ... rather messy but work for now.

Does the Camo bag makes it hard to find. ? :) LOL

Perfect way to bring in wood & reduce the mess.
Looks like a helper on one strap would make it even easier.
    Good idea.
Do you fill it up after each load, so it's ready when needed ?

Get a few weights of the full bag , then an average weight ,
calculate wood usage & BTUs burned :)

Sean it sounds like our situation is similar with the wood being close. I've been considering making one of those carriers but still have not found the time to do it. It is sort of "one of those days" type of jobs, I guess.

That looks pretty handy swags. A nice gift. How much wood have gone through this year so far? Approximately.

Where did she pick that tote up at Swags. I just showed your picture to the wife for a birthday idea in January.

It's "Thirty One" a company that sells bags, totes, and purses. It's run similar to Mary Kay or Pampered Chef. My wife sells it so she got me the bag. If your interested in a tote like that let me know and I can give you her contact info. They can get embroidered too, could put "wood hauler" or "firewood" on the bag.
