Saw an Ad on FBM and had the day off so decided to go check it out I ended up grabbing some mulberry for the first time so info on it would be nice but I know it’s supposed to be real good. Also grabbed some paper birch as well. At the end of it all it was a pretty good haul. IMG_0021.jpeg IMG_0020.jpeg

Nice haul! You will like the Mulberry. It burns hot like oak but doesn't take as long to dry. The birch you can probably burn this fall.

    Another nice grab.

Mulberry is a hidden gem among burners. Dries in a year and puts out great heat and coals. Just be mind full as it spits a lot in open fires. I've marketed it as "Rice Krispies" wood.

Paper birch dries fast and is a decent shoulder season wood.

Sweet! Just remember to split the birch but you don't have to rush to get that done. Just do it before stacking.

Nice grab. Our FBM is usually junk, tops or people looking to have trees dropped for free. I don't look on it much anymore.

I usually split everything within a day or 2 of bringing home so not a problem:D

If you cook over an open flame or smoke any meats, try the mulberry. I wish I could get more of it.

Ive done pretty good scoring wood on FBM as well and the same holds true around here. Good stuff, bad stuff. Snooze and lose.

Have you ever used a saw at a score or do you just take it as is?

I always bring a saw and wedges and whatever else I need. It has saved me a few times I’ve also been picking up wood and the homeowner had me cut down little “bonus” trees! Also noticed that a lot of FB ads say to bring a saw. And I prefer to cut everything to firewood length right there before I load it so I don’t have to do it later on
