IMG_1715.jpeg The oldest daughter and I got to spend a couple hours splitting today. She rolled the rounds she could and the got to run the log lift. She wants to run the splitter too but it’s to fast and the handle is too far on top. I used to let her run the old splitter but it traveled at half the speed of smell. She needs a few more years and inches before she can run the new one.

IMG_1721.jpeg She helped for longer than I thought she would in the heat. It lasted until her sister got out the slip and slide. She didn’t split the whole pile with me but was there for most of it.

What a great helper you have. She will remember those times for years to come, great job dad.

Oh, and nice pile of splits you have. Maybe she can help stack it.

Yes! Agreed Dennis. Any help is good help but I loved the days my kids were able to.

My daughter just left today for her junior year of college. Time flies and seems to go faster the older I get.

Great thread! Brings back some memories of my younger days and helping with the firewood.

She stacks with me some of the time. Usually I have the girls fill wheelbarrows and I take it and stack it. When I have room left, I let them make their own stacks but I’m pretty much at capacity now. I need to set up an area just for the girls to stack.

Very sweet. Yep, she'll remember these times, good memories. She'll think back on this years later and that pile of wood will be a mountain!

I agree with the others that she'll remember the days of her helping you out. And so will you!
