On modern Stihl saws are there just 2 types of rim sprockets, small and mini? Is it true that the Oregon replacement rims for small will not fit a Stihl clutch drum?
mini small standard. small stihl and oregon small the same. Oregon small fit stihl small. Here this might help you. http://coonasawchain.com.au/shop/category/chainsaw-sprockets-rim-sprockets-gb-rim-sprockets
It does a little. So what saws use what. I know my 441 and 660 take a different rim than the small saws (024, 026, 261, 034). Do the smaller saws take mini and the bigger use small? What saws use standard?
Your 441 & 660 use standard. The smaller saws you listed use mini hub. I'm not certain about the 034. It may be small hub or mini hub.
Thanks SF. Standard oregon fits standard stihl also. So not to confuse people by OP post in beginning.
034s were mini hubs from the factory. It was very common to upgrade them to the same hub as the 036/044 so both sizes are out there.
I think I got it now. Stihls 50cc and under with the exepction of some or all 034s are mini. 60cc and larger Stihls are standard. Small spline is aftermarket for Stihls that use mini spline but a small spline rim will not fit a mini spline drum. I like that the 034 has a mini spline drum because I can run picco on it if I want and have the correct rim on it.
