Has anyone used the cob style led replacement bulbs for a work light? I need to replace my halogen "pencil" bulbs again and am wondering if there is something better. I see I can order an 300w cob led that I think would work but in the description it said to not use in enclosed fixtures. Do you just leave the protection glass off and go?? Is the 6000k cool white better than the warm white 2700k or will it glare too much?

I replaced some metal halide bulbs in security lights at work with them...seem to work out fine...they were cool white, but I'd have to look up the specs on them now...seems to me like they are 40W
