Dont mesh the price and i tell you why if the stihl tomorow put to the market the carbon saw and the price is 3000 euros many of us here we go and buy it
right ?? so the first is to tell what do you have in your mind about the materials and the technologies
for example titanium cases maybe ?? or lower noisy muflers , generally look your saw and think if you can what you will change on it

First i start from the materials ok the magnesium is good and light but i want something about with the same weight but more durable specially on the crankases
    the same on the crankshafts

I would personally like to see a more durable material used for the tank housings. It seems unfortunately easy to damage the bottom (foot plate) as well as the whole thing. Too many broken rear handles and compromised tanks.

I hate to dictate the rules of pantelis's thread, but please everyone, let's not do what would inevitably be done on AnotherSite and turn this into another thread about flippy caps..... :headbang:

True. There was an old Stihl commercial where a saw fell off the side of a truck and toppled down the mountain-in the ad, the saw was in good shape, but later, a real life test surfaced and the saw took a slight beating in reality....

Hello we are in the 2016 i can start my car with a remote control , turn on and off the lights with my mobile phone and many others inteligent things

    why i must pull a rope ????

for the flippy or not flippy caps good idea i dont even need them i want a valve system push the fuel canister into and the valve open the fuel go inside the tank then the valve close and the fuel dont go out
then when you need to change the filter ohhh its simple a special wrench do the job so no caps , no flippy caps

And something informative from know on all the PPE clothes will produce in light pink color , no more orange , the tests show that the pink is about 50-60 % more visible than the orange
factories , doctoros , and laboratories decide this

    dont hit on me :D

No its not beyond its not aliens technology give you an example fuel canisters have the valve so why they can put the system on the canister and not on the saw its simple

and for the starting rope its easy for them think that you must start your car turning a lever like 100 years before in the firsts cars ??

the problem is that they have leave the things run as they was before many years , ok my grandfather must pull the rope just because this was the technology

i must do the same now after of 100 years ??? its like to stop communicate with the computers and use the pigeons for sending messages

    Good points.
Even an electric starter pack would be great.... Like Troy Built system.
What about the motor on a back/waist pack? A flex shaft to the blade system in your hands?

When will we see a cutting laser? Talk about rope pulling being old tech.... Chains have been around for quite some time.

That's what I mean by "outside the box" thinking.

No i dont speak for laser systems but some thinks they can change why must have this big flywheel than to have a smaller system that give us the same amount of air volume maybe smaller parts with the same powers can give you a smaller saw with a better shape very effective specially to pro loggers

The point is not to have the super saw that cut the tree alone , the point is to see the factories what the peoples want some of theese can change some can not

for example the europe saws have simple oiler so i have a 461 and i must thinking if the saw can oiling a 70 cm bar tell me please have the 461 problem to run a 70 cm bar just because of the oiler ??? i think no but what hapend the designer decide this maybe wrong but if many people say look here we have a problem take care for sure a good factory will see and solve the problem
