I thought the door was leaking, but check out the window. The post it paper went right through. Not a good time for this to happen.

Its probably been like this for 2 weeks. Too bad my stove shop closes in a half hour, otherwise I would get the gasket kit and do it tomorrow. Minus 20 WC tomorrow night.... this sucks!

If you have a hardware store near you they probably have that gasket material..

Here is 2 pictures... the first one is with the door open the right side and the second picture is with the door open left side.

It looks like the window slid to the left and if I loosen the clips and slide the window right back to being centered would work ok??

    What do you guys think??

I've had the door open for a bit and its warm to the touch yet. Should things be fairly cooled down before loosening the window? Thanks a lot.

I don't think it would hurt considering you can't get any gasket material right now. Just be careful with the screws on the glass retainers, don't want to break any of those right now either.

The other day I asked you about your burn times, I wonder how long the glass thing went unnocticed?

ok, I slid the glass over. Actually I had to remove the entire window because the metal track that the window is housed in was off, maybe from the factory or screws loosening over time. Anyway, the window is back in, everything is lined up and I will start a small fire. I hope I tightened the clips correctly. I kinda pushed on the glass so it was tight against the gasket while tightening the clips. I ran the post it paper pictured earlier throughout the entire window. Everything is snug, except for a very small area where only a 1/4" corner of the post it slid in.

I'm guessing around 2 weeks. I posted a thread about it then. How the inner top firebox was turning orange, and I was having to close down the air completely. Should be good now, I hope!!

That quarter of the post it will affect the burn a little bit until you can replace the gasket?

Maybe only slightly, if at all. Before I slid over the window, the gap was small, but was close to 3"long. I will schedule the stove shop I bought the castine from to come out an re-gasket the window, door, and ashpan while they are here. The thing is, this is only my 3rd burning season, so I'm kinda surprised this happened. I'll keep ya posted here. I added a few more splits here, and its starting to get going. Stay tuned!!!!

Right where I want to be.
    Just an FYI.
I check the hold down screws every once in a while, just to make sure they're still snug.
I have 2 or 3 that like to loosen. Always on the bottom.
Keep an eye on it, and you should be fine until you can get the gasket.
    Is it a flat one?

    Gasket changes are simple.
I change the door gasket almost yearly. Check the manual.....might tell you in there.
    Is the door still flat?

Dave, that's good advice. I will check the screws more often. This is something I do yearly. Door seems fine. I will have the stove shop re gasket this time, just so I can watch. I watched some you tube vids, and its easy, but still, my stove shop is a half hour away, so this time, they can come to me. The only thing I failed to do, and its too late now is to tighten the screws the same as you would a tire. My dumbazz read that after I built a fire, soooo.........

Top plate gasket 3/8" LD 7
    Smoke outlet gasket 3/16" LD/SA 3'
    Ash housing gasket 3/16" LD/SA 4'
Ash door gasket 5/16" LD 4'
    Glass gasket 3/8" LD 5'
    Door gasket 5/16" LD 5,8'

Matter of fact, I just replaced the door gasket a couple weeks ago, and it's not quite right. Seals well, but the latch bottoms out, so I'm going to change it again.
It's white from the local hardware....I usually use the Rutland Grapho-glass stuff. Seems to hold it's shape better.
I guess now is not the time to experiment with the stove, eh?o_O

I'll have to keep an eye on this. I can control the burn better now, but it seems that along with the secondaries up top and where the air holes are, I am also getting more flame at the bottom right of the door making me wonder if there is a small leak there now.... or just coincidence?

No it's not. Unless I can get the stove guy out here tomorrow after work, this will wait until it warms up a bit.
