When I first read about using leaf blower for cleaning the pellet stove pipe, I only could imagine some horrid mess, and to be honest some did talk about having to clean the house when they added their own way to attach and run the leaf blower.
If you haven't tried this method, it may be well worth your consideration. It is cheap and effective. Not a substitute for a good stove cleaning, but in conjunction with a stove cleaning, it made my stove run like new!
If you want to witness some example of this, just go on over to youtube and type in cleaning a pellet stove pipe with a leaf blower. Oh yes, as a precaution, disconnect the vacuum hose in your stove first.
I do this after every ton of burning. Alway get a kick out of watching the smoke monster emerging from my system. But then, I enjoy the scraping and cleaning out the stove too!

Here's a crappy cell phone video of a good looking dude that had his good buddy put up on youtube for all to view. ;)

And a couple pics from my first year burning.

A word of advice. When I first heard of this trick a couple years ago I tried it with all I had at the time, which was a gas leaf blower/vac.

Let's just say if all you have is a gas leaf blower, or any leaf blower that requires you have it in hand to operate, make sure you stand upwind.

I've since purchased a cheap electric leaf blower just for the stove cleaning. Stove gets just as clean, and I stay much cleaner.

Save money, thanks for posting. I use this trick every year on my stoves, along with my Fathers stove also. It is one of my favorite cleaning tools.

Hay Krooser, welcome and glad to see you. As I recall you were the first to bring this cleaning method to the attention of the clan of pellet pigs. It works, it is easy to do, it is fairly cheap. And it is very entertaining. Did you introduce yourself yet? Glad to see you.
