I couldn't wait to get the Jotul krumkake iron seasoned and put to use. There was a lot of learning on this. I picked a recipe off the net, but I need to keep looking and refine it. I did not have cardamom, but used vanilla and lemon juice as flavoring. First thing I needed a wood cone to form them. I picked a piece of cherry out of the wood stack. I pared it down to size and turned it out on the lathe. The cone was coated in beeswax and olive oil paste after sanding. I had the gas stove burner set on medium. I thinned the batter out and spread it around the iron. At the end I filled the inside with sweetened cream cheese, strawberries and whipped cream. Next round I'll let the cones set to cool completely before filling. The cone were more like a firm waffle. I don't know if they should be more like a pizelle. No complaints from the family.
