    I believe the "D"28 is the rare diesel model, which gives it "a lot of power".

    I rebuilt one those 028 supers for my brother in law about 6 years ago. Good running little saw. I have to say that did crack me up too.

    Tony Rice was one heck of a blue grass player. Probably one of the best in his day. If I remember right he liked Santa Cruz guitars among some others like a Martin D28. It was not a super though.
