Local arborist friend is generous enough to drop off a load of chips when he's in the neighborhood. This time, I could tell his chipper was due for a sharpening and quite a few big chunks. So, bonus kindling! Drying it off in a cart donated from MIL.
Well, it wasn't getting dry inside the box! We really like the banana boxes that you see at grocery stores, they are about perfect- strong, right sized, stackable, handles pre-cut. The kindling was in one, and just wasn't drying. We probably have at least a dozen more from the load of chips, I'm thinking about 3 years worth of kindling. We also have a larger shopping cart that we use to pre-dry splits when necessary, also donated by MIL.
Just did a box of kindling. Wishing it had wheels on it so I could wheel it in front of the stove. Good idea! 2 more boxes like this and should be good for the winter.
