Need a muffler bolt for my J red 2159. dealer wants $2.87 for just one. Simlur looking one at the hardware store, hardened allen head is 58 cents. Problem is I don't know the size I need. Ya'll happen to know? Al
Oh that would be fun and work. But I am afraid the hardware is so up scale they would throw me out per coustomers complaints of my smelly saw. Al
The chain saw uses gas. I have learned how to make gas free bean soup so won't use that. Already been to the dealer, Screw them the good J red dealer retired in 2012. Al
its typical for a jonesred which is a husky clone to lose screws like the huskies do ask The Wood Wolverine
dall Stale ammo Husky hater!! lol At least Husky isn't using male models in their calendars (I'll spare the pics, unless you'd like to see). Those saws have muffin brackets and are not prone to loose them. We didn't hear it fell out...
No it didn't fall out. I removed them for a muffler gasket just before our deer season started and forgot where I put them so I wouldn't for get where they were. 30 days of deer hunting then the holidays and I for got where I put them. Also though I would replace them as they may have streched after all these years. Getting old has you thinking alot about the here after. Now what did I come in here after? OH some one who repairs chain saws who may know the muffler screw size. Al
Oh man, I'm my own worse enemy there. I've hidden plenty of stuff from myself. If I ever move, it'll be fun finding it all. Just my .02, I'd rather have the oe screw.
Well one thing is for sure, as soon as you track down some new ones you'll remember where you put the others !!!!
It appears to be m6x16. Jonsered 2159 - Jonsered Chainsaw (2001-07) MUFFLER Diagram and Parts List | PartsTree.com
I have them in my stock, even in stainless. Put your ice skates on and sprint across the pond and I'll give them to ya !!
At least you remember you went in for something. I go in and get distracted and forget I was even doing something else !!
Oh...I'm the victim of that too. Go to the store to buy something specific, leave with $400 worth of stuff I didn't know I needed when I walked through the door, then get home and realize I didn't pick up what I went there for in the first place. Princess Auto (basically Harbor Freight - north) is the worst for inflicting this form of brain cramp on me.
6X16 thank you very much. KI am not sure buying new one will turn thre old ones up. Few years back I was building some thing and needed some of those bisket things. I went to Lowe's and got a plastic can of them and put them away when I got home (Some Place). 5 years later I was cleaning a cabnet to store some jars of honey and there were thios darn biskets. every time I couldn't find some thing for 5 years I wa stold they were with the biskets. Al
Chain saw snobs!!!!!!!! Only saw I met I didn't like was a 70's some thing small McCulloch 1010. Friend had one he bought new. Would run good, stop and fill it back up with fuel and it wouldn't start back up, next day still wouldn't start. Back to the dealers Monday and pick it up friday with a tank of gas and would run good. Saturday cut wood stop and put gas in it and it wouldn't start again. Problem was solved, left it on the load of fire wood when stoped to get gas in his truck, while inside some dumb bass stole it. I have 3 huskys, 1 j red, 1 echo (my favorite lite saw)1 polan a power house for what it is. Al
