I've been bored today so have been reading a few posts and have noticed some folks have bought new splitters

To make it short and sweet anyone who buys a splitter from tractor supply in the future or have recently bought one. You may want to change the oil before first use.

Reason being I bought one last jan and since I didn't want one that was assembled by a half arse teeny bopper or one that sat outside I asked for one in the crate.

The hydraulic oil comes with the splitter from speeco as well as the engine oil all you have to do is put it in. This is where the problem is well at least with mine.

The engine oil that came with mine was straight 30w oil that was labeled speeco. The Honda owners manual specifically calls for 10w30 oil. I don't think it's a real big deal or has caused any problems but I'm picky about that kind of stuff and figured I would let others know as well

I might add that putting a splitter together is quite easy so if anyone is in the market for one from tsc and don't want one that's sat out in the elements or one that's been questionably put together ask for one in the crate

Might make a big diff esp for those who try to split in the cold of winter. Makes for hard cold starts.
