A periodic solar event called a "grand minimum" could overtake the sun perhaps as soon as 2020 and lasting through 2070, resulting in diminished magnetism, infrequent sunspot production and less ultraviolet (UV) radiation reaching Earth — all bringing a cooler period to the planet that may span 50 years.
The last grand-minimum event — a disruption of the sun's 11-year cycle of variable sunspot activity — happened in the mid-17th century. Known as the Maunder Minimum, it occurred between 1645 and 1715, during a longer span of time when parts of the world became so cold that the period was called the Little Ice Age, which lasted from about 1300 to 1850.

Oh don't worry, global cooling will cost you somehow, someway far beyond being used as a wedge issue to garner votes.

You have power over your mind - not outside events.
Realize this, and you will find strength.

And where did you come up with this wisdom of weather events?

This is in the history books and is pretty well known. You just don't hear much about it now because it doesn't fit with what some are selling.
The bad news is that here in Canada the growing season will get shorter. I recall reading that if we (up here) lost an average of 2 degrees over the course of a year that many crops including wheat wouldn't be able to be grown.
Don't know if it's true or not.
I do know I went through more wood last winter than any of the other 30 years that I've lived in this house.

And on the flip side, I recall reading many moons ago that if the average temperature rose 2 degrees we would be doomed. Well, it has and we aren't yet.

Fair enough. A bit of warming won't hurt anything but even a small amount of cooling can wreak havoc on growing seasons around the world. A killing frost two or three weeks early can be disastrous. A growing season that lasts longer because it's warmer hurts nothing.
We're past the end of our interstatial and cooling is definitely in the cards. It might not be in my lifetime when it starts but it's surely coming and there's nothing we can do to stop it.
Ice ages have begun when CO2 levels were much higher than todays levels so adding any more isn't going to stop it.
