On June 6, 1944, D-Day, Allied troops landed on the beaches of Normandy, France, marking the start of the campaign to liberate Europe from Nazi control. The operation, codenamed Operation Overlord, involved the largest seaborne invasion in history, with approximately 160,000 Allied troops landing on five beaches: Sword, Juno, Gold, Omaha, and Utah.

D-Day involved a massive amphibious landing in Normandy, where Allied forces overcame significant challenges to establish a beachhead and begin the liberation of Europe.

I want to thank all the D-Day Vets who are still with us for their bravery and dedication on that historic day.
