Always hoping to get more done than you do but this pile represents what got done in the month of July. Just over 60 feet long. Still have a lot to add to it. In the one picture you can see my cutoffs which go to people with small stoves and on the pallet are long pieces which go to people who want longer than my standard 16". In the other picture is the wooden bin where unsellable wood goes which I burn in my OWB.
Uh......Yeah..... think I gotta like that!!!!! Put it in stacks and you’d have the Great Wall of New Jersey!!!
It's not a competition. I'm sure you've been plenty busy doing other things but summer is when I have the time to get it done.
WOW !!!!! Don't I feel fairly useless !!! Having spent a summer in Cape May , I know how Hot and humid it gets there. Course, I'm working full time and by the weekend I'm Beat ! Do u have pics of your production setup ?? I think you are the King of July firewood hoarders !
good on you! I'm at a net negative for july. But camp fires & cooking outside with wood takes priority over production in July for me. Iirc you're a teacher on summer break and sell firewood during the winter.
I CSS about 3/4 of a cord in July.....looks like a very similar amount to what you got done there. Holy crap, that's some production!
I'm 100% certain that is a bigger pile than I've ever had at one time. And mine was not in the summer!
I realize it's not a competition, thank goodness. I'm not a big fan of summertime heat and humidity. In the past I've always taken the last week of August off from work to take care of wood. Running out this past spring, coupled with wife's health issues, and learning about such a thing as a three year plan put me in a mindset to get ahead. I figure I'm at a 2 yr plan at this point, which is way ahead of normal (3 cord purchased, 3 cord processed). But I see that pile, and, well..
Like you jrider , I have cut wood in the summer because that's when the wood was offered and I had the time to do it. Now due to the storms over the last couple of years that have been sending me trees from heaven, I c/s/s from Sept. to May now and I have the time to do it. That's another reason I wear gloves, much of the work then is cold.
Oh I would wear gloves in a New Hampshire winter no doubt. Spent 4 years up there while in college in Plymouth.
