This is another 670 that came to me in pieces. It's the Cutter's Edge model that was sold to fire departments as a ventilation saw, and it looks like this one has pretty low hours. It needs to be completely checked out and I have to fix that spark plug lead.

It's always good to pull the oil pump on these and you can do 4 things while it's off: replace the seal, replace the oring, check and clean the pickup tube, and lube the adjuster screw. The sleeve on the crank is the special tool that lets you slide the pump back on without damaging the seal...

Original cylinder and boot look really good. The piston has some wear on the intake side, so it's going to be replaced as long as everything is apart.

Pressure and vac check says everything is ready to go back together!

This saw used the 266 style muffler, so it's going back on with a new fire screen.

That looks like it will be another nice looking and I am sure running 670 you have there. Can't wait to see it all put together.

Finishing up the clutch side - note that the thrust washer goes on first. I've seen them missing or put on under the clutch, and that can allow the drum to chew up the seal.

Ready to put the intake together and get the plastic on. The original top cover is in really nice shape and hard to find in this condition.

The fit between the boot and the carb is key on these saws to keep them running right. Make sure the boot is installed into the nylon support correctly and that the metal ring is there.

Everything hooked up, new pulse line, fuel line, carb rebuild, and stop switch.

Ready to go! Will try to get it out this weekend and make some noise.

Thanks. These are fun saws to rebuild and always great to run.
