Just picked up this saw Saturday, someone my wife works with had it given to him by his father and he didn't want it. Saw needs a good cleaning but everything looks to be intact so far. Haven't tried to run it yet but pulls over and seems to have good compression. I looked at some specs on it 61 cc closed port lower rpm saw and heavier that my Dolmar 7900. Question is it there any P&C kits available for this to bring it closer to 70 cc? I'm not that familiar with Jonsereds or Huskies and have no idea what parts are interchangeable. I'd like to make a sleeper saw out of this if possible just for fun. What I've read has been very contradictory so far.

It's a great saw. I got my dad's after he Passed. He took out thousands of trees with it. The saw no longer works due to limited parts. I cannot find anyone to keep it going. Does anyone know a dealer who truly specializes in Jonsered north of boston?

Between this site and a couple cousin sites, you’re likely to find the right parts resource for replacement parts. It won’t be hard.

625 is open port and 61cc. I could be wrong, but they don't feel as heavy as a 7900. 670 cylinder fits. 68cc. 272xp cylinder fits but you'll need a few extra parts, 72cc.

Lots of parts from a husqvarna 61 will swap if you are looking to keep it the same displacement and your jug is sound. Flywheel, crank, piston, coil, oiler, clutch. The intake boot common to the 625/670's complicate top end swaps. 630's offer a bit more flexibility without the intake boot if you are going the 272 route, though. Not that that is relevant in this case.

Just ordered a p&c kit from Simonians made in Italy. It's a 272 Meteor kit with the impulse line for a direct swap. Going to clean up the ports and do something with the muffler. Hoping that the carb will be enough to run strong. Mainly want it for a fun saw to pull out, don't really need it.

I cant remember the carb #. I have one that had the bigger carb, and a 630 that had a smaller carb. Seems like a 218 or 228 was the smaller one
