Corn, peas and raspberries here. This is just part of one garden. Going to start watering this probably tomorrow. Been watering the other garden the last couple days. Things are drying up fast around here.

The peas are blossoming and the raspberries are just starting to blossom. Wild berries are just about past blossom but if we don't get much rain, they will dry up. Don't want that to happen to the raspberries and strawberries for sure.

Looked over the apple trees real good today and it appears the last couple of frosts got them so there won't be much cider this fall. I also am going to have to spray the trees as the worms are trying to move in. Hate to spray but don't want the trees damaged either.

Also worked up one food plot today and will plant some buckwheat soon; maybe tomorrow. I'd like to plant just before a rain and we might get some over the weekend. If we don't get rain, I have to babysit the field until the crop is up in order to keep the turkeys from digging it all up. So, I sit and read a lot for a few days and occasionally have to chase the stupid birds out. Sometimes I just have to stand up and holler and away they go. Wish they'd go a long ways away...

Oh yes, I've eaten fresh strawberries 2 days in a row now. Not many but enough to tease the tummy. Yummy!

You are hardly a spring chicken anymore Dennis, but you still give it hell when you get outside...
The garden looks great. Is the ornery one happy?

Still try to keep a little spring in my step but it gets difficult at times. Still enjoy working the ground in the spring too. Even got that garden hoed today but it is really dry. I either start watering or the Lord needs to dump some water on us within a couple days.

The ornery one is doing well!

Ya, I talked to Zap today and he says you are expecting a good rain this weekend. Not so much here. They say a 50% chance Sat night and Sunday then down to 30% Sunday night and Monday. Typically with those low percentages, we get nothing or practically nothing.

Oh yeah! Some really nice strawberries grown up there. Our raspberries are just starting to blossom. I'll have fresh strawberries on a bowl of cereal in the morning.
