Meaning what i dont know. Passed it several times over the weekend and couldnt figure it out? Any ideas?
Apparently an assembly point, and it's the #1. "It turns out they are a way to organize and account for people in life-or-death emergencies like earthquakes. Called meeting points — they are where people are supposed to gather after evacuating homes and businesses."
Without an official explanation of the pictogram, my assumption is there will be one bowling ball dropped from the sky onto every group of 3 people congregating in that spot. Better not be the guy in the middle.
That is a gathering point for building evacuations. This specific spot is gathering point #1, there will be several others around the property. Each group is assigned a specific gathering point to go to in case of evacuation. That makes counting people and know someone is missing easier. This is one reason large companies are adamant that they know if you are on-site or working off-site each day (or taking PTO or whatever) I work for a large company and they have signs very similar, although since I WFH now, I can't remember the exact signage. Since my official designation is full time remote, if I need to go into the office for some reason, even if only for 15 minutes, I am required to let my manager know (and also let them know when I leave).
