This wood hoarding thing is a disease, I tell ya. Took a walk back in the woods to look for morels, and all I could focus on was all of the firewood I have to cut. Ash, cherry, maple, and oak-- just not enough time to get to all of it. Needless to say, I didn't find any mushrooms, but I've got enough wood to keep me busy for a while.
I took a little hike myself this afternoon. Except I was looking for firewood. All my widowmakers and other hazards are still intact unfortunately. But I did have a deer walk up about 20' away from me. It stood behind this root ball for about 15 mins checking me out, while I stood still with my camera ready hoping it would wander out from behind there. No luck though - it finally noticed me and took off too fast. Fun hike though!
Well, now you know where we live so if you want to see more mess like that, come on and bring the camera and perhaps the saw!
Shawn, I absolutely love it when deer do that. A couple years ago I was setting a tree stand. Was on the ground at the time but heard something behind me. A doe and fawn just casually walked past never showing sign of being scared. Really made my day.
And no doctor can cure us, take a few oz. of two stroke oil several times a week and and you can live with symptoms.
Uhhhh wow what a site....all I picture is nicely split wood from all that....fallen trees =my weakness
