Greetings from Carroll County Ohio! My name is Frank ans I am excited to be on this forum. I was handed a "Hoarders Club" business card by one of my buddy's at church on Sunday. It seems that Ron (Locust Post) has been a member for some time, and he knows that I burn wood to heat my house. Although I do not really look at wood cutting has a hobby, and my son's look at it as a chore, I really do enjoy learning more about it. I truly look forward to further discussions on the forum.

I currently heat with a Taylor T750 OWB. I bought it new in 2006. It does the job although not very efficient. I am starting to look at ways to modify it to burn better with less smoke. Currently researching firebrick options. I am certainly open to suggestions from you boys that have experience.

I also own the following saws.

    Echo Cs-670 x2
    Echo Cs-600p
    Echo Cs-520

    I'm an Echo guy!

Hi Frank - welcome to the club! Bunch of nice, knowledgeable folks here. I know I've learned a lot!

I grew up stacking wood with my dad. I thought it was a chore at the time too, until I was the one paying the gas man! The next generation of wood burners right there!

    Welcome to the forum Frank.

Good to know the business cards work and it sounds like you do some hard work! With the OWB, most end up having to burn more wood than they used to but many still like them. It appears in the future they will be making them a bit more efficient and not so much smoke.

You enjoy learning about wood and cutting so you might find this interesting. Here is a link: http://firewoodhoardersclub.com/for.../primer-on-woodburning-by-backwoods-savage.6/

When you get there you will see that you can download a file that has lots of information. Hope you enjoy.
