Hey yall thanks for welcoming me aboard the form! I figured I’d give a little introduction….. so heya my name is Gunnar and I just got into this firewood hoarding so I’m trying to figure it out and learn a bunch. This seems like the place to do so after lurking on the forums a couple days. But as of now I have roughly just shy of 2 cords I believe. (Rookie numbers I know) but besides that that’s about it. Now for couple pictures of what I got. [IMG]
This is a stack of red maple I got drying until winter time.

This right here is a stack of maple I’m currently burning.

Here’s a little bit of elm for inside. I’m not sure which elm it is.

As for this last little stack I have no idea what it is I was hoping yall could help me identify it with these few pictures of when I grabbed it and split it. All I know is it was tough and really twisted and didn’t split to nice.

Welcome to the forum Gunnar. Looks like you’re doing well at it. As for the id I’m not good at it. Looks like some type of maple. Silver maybe?
    Someone else will know.

    Welcome aboard
You will really learn a lot and don’t be afraid to ask questions
As far as the ID it is really hard without a good picture of the bark
The best ID would be if you had a picture of the leaves and also the bark

Welcome ImGunnar :handshake: Great to have you. We're the dysfunctional family you'll be glad to be a member of. :loco:

Awesome group of folks here. Willing to lend a hand and share their firewood know how.

Hang around and get yourself educated. I thought I knew a lot until I joined FHC in 2019. And we love pictures.

BTW your mystree wood looks like some type of maple based on the bark and spalting.

Welcome ImGunnar!!! Great to have another Michigander here. You will learn quite a bit. Your splits look like silver maple inside.

    Welcome to FHC ImGunnar !

That definitely looks like some sort of maple, as evidenced by the spalting . Probably silver maple. Maple is usually pretty easy to split, but there's exceptions to everything.
