    Hello
The Insinkerator hot water dispenser is very handy and lasted a long time. I own the original classic design. Recently the top handle broke. Therefore I ordered the new part thru Carroll parts 800-654-3545
Got the new parts and went to install it. The replacement installation is easier because the shutoff spigot to the cold water line is already there. However the new replacement part which is the new Contour style is very similar and mounts the same way but the brass water line is a little thicker. Therefore even though I spent some time very carefully cutting the copper water line and banging off the old brass nut and ferrule it does not fit the new copper water line!
Therefore I called the Insinkerator answer line and they said those parts do not come with the new replacement top!!
The lady said there are no specific part numbers for these parts and they can be purchased fromCarroll Parts or a plumbing supply store.
Does anyone know if Lowes or Home Depot has them or do I have to go to a hardware store or special plumbing supply store?

I have many years in the plumbing trade but can't follow what the problem may be , are you trying to reuse the old ferrule . if so thats a problem as it's been compressed and is too small to go over the new line. brass ferrules are available at all hardware stores. also copper tubes on fixtures are often bent to fit a shipping box resulting in an out of round pipe. re cutting with pipe cutters will resolve that issue if that's the problem. plumbing pipes are standard outer dia sizes. if the pipe is thicker it will still be the same od.

Yes I tried to use the old ferrule and aha I thought it might have been compressed and not reusable!
Even more reason to include one in the replacement parts?? !!
I did find a new one for $2.75 at Home Depot!
    Thanks for your help!! :)

you're welcome . as a side note never trust the plastic ferrules they sell . it can blow apart and flood you out. glad you got it fixed..

    Hello
Just got the new spout installed.
The problem with the old one was that when you turned the top handle to turn on the hot water after a while was the whole body would also turn!
The body has a 1/4 x 20 thread post on the bottom with a horse shoe type clip to hold it with a 1/4” wing nut to the sink. Therefore the simple fix is to add a 1/4” C-Lock washer and regular washer to hold it in properly!
Another two parts that should be in the parts of both a new unit and the replacement top. :)
    See pics

The struggle was not over yet!
The tank practically fell off the back wall under the sink because the screws were stripped and did not go into the studs. So I got my wall anchor kit and used the red anchors with screws that worked perfectly! Then I purchased at Home Depot a pack of 10 black ring washers 3/8” ID and 1/2” OD which looked like it would fit. Wow - No way would they fit! Back to Home Depot and saw a 10 pack of 5/16” ID x 1/2” OD - No Way
So the only way to get the right one which I found to be 5/16” IF x 7/16” OD and a wall of 1/16” is to purchase a huge assorted pack for $12.97 !!!
That washer should come with the replacement parts??

Pic 6 - correct black ring washer installed!!
Pic 7 - Blue water connection does not leak!!

Pic 9 - Had to add Teflon tape to connect the new copper tubing water connection brass nut and ferrule!
Pic 10 - Instant hot water is Back! It works!

pic# 9 the insert you put in the pipe is for use on plastic line not copper . it may be why you had trouble getting a seal . it is made to stiffen plastic a plastic water line so when the ferrule is compressed the pipe retain it's shape. if it doesn't leak leave it ..
