I can't figure out which one I love more, skunk or rotting fish!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...............or a container of over-cooked worms.................or rancid chicken.

Very faint skunk aroma reminds me of MickyD's, specifically a Big Mac, FWIW.

I thought I had seen it all when that this threa was posted.
The last time I dealt with a skunk my boxer got sprayed and
Then had a seizure from the toxins in the spray. What a putrid
    Odor!

I was JUST telling my wife about this thread. She said coffee (this morning's Maxwell House) reminds her of a very faint skunk odor, which she doesn't mind at all. Here I've been living with a 10%er for 14 years and didn't even know the 10% existed :headbang::doh:

My whole dang processing area smells like a skunk right now . I had one living in one of my out buildings the end of this winter but couldn't manage to trap him. Yesterday the dog's found the stinky bastad dead under a pile of pine logs. Yep, they both smelled like skunk last night:picard:

I have also noticed the slight skunky smell of some coffees, yet I drink a pot a day. however, I have no affinity for skunk musk. Makes me gag. Now, for real pukability, dead rodents will empty my stomach every time. I worked for a company once that kept the bay doors open most of the time, and a rat had apparently gotten in, eaten some poison, then politely died behind some metal stock near the machine I was working with. It was July. My stomach was roiling, yet my boss swore there was no smell and said keep working. I waited until he left for a while, got one of the boys to move the metal, and pushed the little bloated carcass out. None of the he-men would touch it, so I got a piece of paper, took it outside and lobbed it into the dumpster. I worked comfortable the rest of the day, but boy, that stink sure imprinted on my brain. Same thing with skunk. Nasty.

Faint smell I don't mind, it's been years since I ate at a McD's, but I can remember recalling the two as similar.

The worst thing I have ever smelled is when I left a can of worms in the trunk of my car. :hair:

Oh gosh, I forgot that will be coming up soon. Here you have a beautiful spring day, you want to open the windows, and...slam 'em back down.

I think I might have read somewhere,,,,, sometime ago, maybe, that the Columbians worshiped skunks and raised many to protect the bean fields !!!;)

We don't have skunks on Vancouver Island but in a month or so, the skunk cabbage will be blooming with a very similar scent - not just as strong.
