No it was in a house I showed, made me think of you though. I'm actually going back in the house today. I could leave a note for you about the saw if you want

What's special about gear drive saws? Were they typically geared up or down?

Down. Less RPM's than direct drive saws but have way more torque & are pretty much unstoppable in the bigger stuff....

McCulloch made several models over the years from 54cc to 103cc.Stopped making them around '75 or so.Homelite made a bunch too in various sizes, stopped in the early '70's.

Don't forget the legendary Stihl 090G,106cc,sold in mid-late 60's if I'm not mistaken.Smaller displacement than the more well known regular 090 with 137cc.

I know of a member that has a Stihl 041G . Minty Gear drive Stihl.. Like super minty. Held it in my hands personally.

And based on my conversation with him.. I doubt he will be getting rid of it.

Hypothetically speaking, what would a minty specimen of such a Sears gear drive bring? I know a fella with one I'd like to try to buy. I really have no idea if its a $50 novelty or genuinely collectible. He is a tough negotiator, so id like to have a solid value in mind. I'm guessing the numbers produced likely keep the value down, but I'm guessing.
