Last weekend I posted that I was going to cut up an ash tree at my in-laws, but bagged it as we received some heavy, wet sloppy snow. With another round of snow coming here Friday and Saturday, and the sun out today, I took the afternoon off and did some cutting. The ash tree was only 24" diameter, not 30 as I had previously reported. Sorry! It was about 37 out, and I enjoyed cutting in the sun. Still have some work to do, but the wood is excellent. No rot at all.
Liar, liar, pants on fire! Hopefully your pants are below 20% MC! You are forgiven Buck! We all like to tell out fish stories on here! Some nice rounds there! Way to get after it.
Buck55 I think I speak for all of us when I say that we’re disappointed. While commendable for admitting your deceptive ways, it’s going to take time to rebuild our trust in you. But hey, nice score!
That's a goodun Buck! Oh, I dunno, still quite a bit here locally...maybe 1/4 to 1/3 of what I run across is too far gone to fool with...
It's well beyond 75% of what I'm sawing on locally. Sucks. I found 2 nice size stems in the woods beside dad's place (that he's allowed to cut in). They're both not worth the effort. I bucked one and dad said don't go any further. Now dad is the type to pick up every piece! So when he says don't bother, it's usually junk.
Hey, that's still going to be a lot of firewood. As to ash being good and not punky, around here I still have yet to run into any ash that was eab killed that still isn't good.
Still solid ash around here. Rarely are they large trees and they are a small component of our forests here, not really a common tree. Not rare but you might only have one every few acres. Some tracts none
Nice work , but for the fable on diameter you owe me one real garbage plate!!!!!Nick Tahoe for sure!!!!
Good stuff, man! Nice grab! I used to really clean up on the Ash firewood in the city. I don't see much of it anymore. It's my favorite firewood. I'm burning a little bit of it right now.
