Unreal 830 this morning, woke up someone knocking, looked out front there was a truck in the driveway running, by the time I got dressed went out the front door the guy was peeling out of the driveway, by the time I got in my truck and got out in the road he was long gone, my shed had the lock on it but was not locked he stole my brand new 150 BT blower and my Generac generator neighbor saw him, cops called, I don't have any serial numbers I'll probably never see this chit again

Holy chit. Gotta assume the knocking was to see if no one was home so they could continue "shopping". Hopefully there's enough info on the vehicle to help catch em. Do you have pix of the gear stolen? Could help.

Good luck man... it sucks. Hope you nail the losers and get your gear back.

Wow, HDR, sorry to hear that.
Part of the reason we have dogs.
They can hear a leaf blowing in the road 1/4 mile away. They're my early warning system, and the reason I'm able to be out the door almost before anyone can get out of their car.
Were you able to get a plate number or make/model?

Oh, chit, that is disgusting. I am so sorry you got robbed. I know how violated you feel when someone steals from you. At least your neighbors saw something. You guys who live in neighborhoods need survalance systems.
I don't remember, do you have dogs?
You need PalletPete over there. He goes out and hunts them down!

Tough news. There are some pretty brazen, desperate people out there. Disgusting is the word, Save. Dirtbags is another that comes to mind.

Keep an eye out on Craigslist and pawn shops, he may try to sell it.
Tell as many neighbors as you can. He'll probably hit another neighborhood close by. Ask them if they have had anyone knocking looking for work.
The 'knock first to see if you are home' is classic. If you are home they ask if you need work done, size you up for a scam, etc. If you are not home they help themselves to your chit.

That would really pizz me off.
Dogs usually let me know as soon as someone stops in the yard - and there's 30 rounds of 223 at the ready, probably aim for tires/radiator..... You have to live in Texas to use lethal force to defend property

Low lifes I tell you. There's been a bit of that around here too, but nobody's messed with our place. I have been dealing with some scum that have been trying to phone scam my 85 and 90 year old parents. I'd like to have a nice friendly fishing trip with these guys, I have a filet knife to take on the trip maybe give them a close shave. ....that's about as low as you can get, preying on the elderly.

Sorry that happened to you HD. As Blue had said, keep an eye out in the local ads, CL and Ebay even. Might even try a quick ride around town at different times to look for the truck. As you can tell it was definitely a quick hit and run, probably drug related, looking for some quick cash.

So sorry HD... I hope they catch the low life!!

We have had Seven reported robberies in my neighborhood (within 5 miles of my house) in the last week, and I live in a very rural area. Like papadave and Basod said, my dogs alert me of anyone or anything near my property and I do believe in the 2nd ammendment and practice it.. Nuff said ;)

Hope you get your stuff back brother!

    Thanks everyone
    Man people are really bold.
I can't hardly believe this happened the way it did.
Dam thieving low life piece of chit
Maybe because of all the wood around maybe the guy thought he was going to get some chainsaws but I don't keep them in the shed they are in the locked up pole barn.
My neighbor got a good look at the truck and saw the guy but didn't actually see him put the stuff in his truck or anything.
Cop said stuff like that happens all the time no matter what time of day it is.
I didn't even know he took anything until I got back I just knew he did something and tried to chase him down.
We did not get a license plate number.
@Pallet Pete no power outage here
I do have pictures of the stuff that was taken

Had a break-in earlier this year, brazen daytime one too. Wife had taken the kids out, I left for my late day of work - the &$!!@#'s took a shovel on the porch and popped the kitchen door open, busting it so it had to be replaced, stole an iPad and left. Feeling of violation sucks, also the monetary loss with the deductible meaning you never recoup the value of what was taken. Know how you feel and sorry to hear you're going through this.
