I dont know what to get

I could be getting a new saw soon. My 455 is getting old and has had minor breakdowns lately so im using my 576 alot and that needs tlc also. Any idea what it would cost for a pro to check out my 576 and give it some love. It needs some tweeking. Also what should i get, i love both of these saws, love the power of the 576xp but not how heavy it gets throughout the day. Maybe something in between????

Are you dead set on Husky?

The Dolmar 6100 is supposedly a nice mid range saw, and can be had for less money than the Swedish model. Dealer support can be tough though. I have a 7900 and a 5100 and they are both nice saws, with good power/weight ratios.

I want new, i did look at one somebody posted, i think it was a 562 looked fairly new

 

How much $$$ was it

 

It was a 555 for $450 with EL carb whatever that is its in the fhc classifieds

 

I run a 20 in bar on my 555 and it's a heck of a cutter. It's been a good reliable saw for me.

I dont know, you cant find a bad review on echocs590 and rt now $399 is looking so much better than $779. Echo is heavier because its alot of magnesium, which is stronger than plastic. Husky cuts faster, echo is easier to work on. We shall see, ill go look once i get a break but im getting pounded with orders, they want my Ash real bad

 

Look at the dolkita too. I got my Makita 6421 for $300 from home Depot as an ex rental saw. It looked almost new. It sure cuts a lot faster than any 64cc saw has a right to. If 64cc isn't enough, you can make it an 80cc saw for a relatively small amount.

 

I really like my 562 . But , if I was looking to replace a 455 , I’d go t o the CS 590 . I maintain 4 of them for various folks . They do beat on them ,yet they never quit . It’s a whole lot of saw for 399 .

 

Nothing wrong with veering away from big name brands. I've somewhat made a unintentional habit of it. Everyone raves about Deere tractors. Most of my garden tractors have been Case/Ingersoll which are tough as nails. When it came time for a big 4x4 diesel tractor, Deere and Kubota were too pricey so I went with Kioti. Better specs, more standard features, much less money. Everyone raves about Stihl and Husky saws. I have two Stihls, but my two Dolmars are just as good and were a lot cheaper. I think getting an up and coming brand that's trying to compete in the market and has way cheaper prices is the way to go. Some guys just have to have the name brand though. A lot of those guys also never actually use the tools. I know several guys just like this who laughed at my brands. The reality is my cheaper equipment will not only keep up, but in many cases will outwork theirs.

 

Whatever saw i get, is going to be used everyday, its going to live in the back of my truck. Iv watched numerous yout tube videos comparing 455,562 and cs590. Im really leaning to Echo fir the money, im having a hardtime justifying $300 plus dollars more for a saw that cut on average like 1.2 seconds faster. The only thing holding me back is the echo is 17 pounds. Thats 2 pounds more than my 576, thats more than a 660 weighs.

 

Echo warranty is 5 years apposed to husky 2 year. I was on firewood sellers group on Facebook and so many pros are using echo now. One shop in town dropped husky all together to carry echo

 

I tell you what though it sure feels good to have been busting my a$$ since september and to be able to shop for a new saw.
