Well today Katie started her new job! This is the first time in 7 years she has been in the workforce.

It is kind of strange to be all alone around here. It almost feels odd, but I have been staying busy helping her clean, cook and do the laundry. It is also lambing season, so I have been out and about checking on lambs and ensuring their survival.

She did hold out on me though. I never knew Jerry Springer came on at 10 AM! Well this is what retirement is all about. Sure I might be a kept-man now, but jeesh learning about the backstories of some of this white trash is pretty interesting. I had no idea a guy could be a girl, and his-her long time lover never knew! Interesting!!

Well I gotta clean out the rabbit hutch and blast our bunny with Styx as I do so. She has no appreciation for good music, but will soon get used to it.

Well Maury Povich and Connie Chung (his wife) are from Bath, Maine! :-(

I am not going to surrender my man card just yet, nor don Katie's Little Red Dress, but I am looking at a nice pink loofa for the shower now. Those dish washed hands dry your skin out and need exfoliating!

It is interesting to note that Maine now gives a paternity test to every unmarried couple who has a child in the state of Maine. I think it is a great law and should include married people. Katie and I, and some friends from church went on a double date (and yes in their little red dresses), but when I suggested this, the woman was upset to think married people would be subjected to paternity testing?

    Why?

I would not care. Katie would not care because she would know the result, and it would not bother me because I know I fathered Kaelyn, a paternity test would only prove it. I bet it would bring about a few extra divorces though!!!

You should wear an apron for your new matronly duties. I suggest this one.

Well to the casual observer driving by my house, that would warrant a showing upon the Jerry Springer show I suppose!

In Canada, stay at home people will have Men's curling Canadian championships to watch all week. I think campinspecter is planning to take in a few games while I am at work.

I would wear the apron before I went to the curling club (which incidentally is something we have here; the only one in the whole state of Maine).

Belfast Maine: "Hey Bath, we'll take your Maury Povich and Connie Chung, if you take our curling club...
Bath: Crickets...then slowly the middle finger comes into view. "No way Belfast".

I just could not believe that Russian curler had to take steroids to compete in the Olympics. I can see getting stoned out of your mind to risk life and limb going down the ski jump at 178 mph, but steroids for curling? Check your manhood at the door there Russian Curler, that makes about as much sense as wearing pink ballet shoes to a Hell's Angel's all you can eat barbecue.

The curling club in Belfast? I know of that. I drive by that when I head to my brother's in Ellsworth. At least now I have an idea of what part of Maine you're in.

I don't live in Belfast, but have a lot of history there. My Great-Grandfather owned a lot of the land along Route 1 which lay between Autozone and the High School (the HighSschool was his old farm). We still have the land behind Reny's (42 acres) but it is in escrow and has been tied up for years waiting for the City of Belfast. Lowes wants to move in there, but they need an anchor store like Walmart, and they refuse to let Walmart to come in. So it sits in limbo...

It is kind of silly because it only hurts belfast. As the local car dealership told me, Saturday is typically the best day for car dealerships, but not for them. Their best day is Monday because on the weekend people leave for Walmart and Lowes in other cities. They are not keeping Walmart out, they are just sending their citizens away...and there is no keeping out Amazon!! Stupid how cities think they can control things. But belfast has always wanted to be Camden! It will NEVER happen.
