This is what they got last February in a four day stretch. Mother? This Is What 6 Feet of Snow in 4 Days Looks Like - wunderground.com
I am about an hour west and we only got a couple inches max. Looking at a possible 5-9” tonight, but lake effect is often very localized and a mile in either direction can make a big difference. Plus it is very hard to forcast so I am most likely to see less than 5” or more than 9” give or take a few feet.
damm. Honestly I would LOVE to be in a small house riding out the storm in that. Not even kidding. I’ll shovel my neighbors just for kicks. Not sure on the wood amount if I could have over there what I have here would be enough but after days of being 80’s in here on a regular basis, I would lay down the gauntlet in challenge. Just to see how a NWer can take the EAST.
Lake effect snow is not always much of a storm. Winds are often light with a LOT of large snowflakes falling gently. Visibility can go to nil in a heavy band and driving is a bit of a hassle but overall it can be more calm, pretty and pleasant than something to ride out.
The most snow Ive seen in my life without being in the mountains is about 8-10 inches. Give or take. 5-6 feet? You’re just going to perpetuate the way I like it. If we got it here that often, surely would be getting a plow and doing work. Too much suburbia.
I actually didn’t think about that! But finding a place for the dog to go potty...that’s a challenge!
