Just got the spring Husqvarna flyer and noticed that the 435, 445, and the 455 are listed as a "hot buy" and somewhat discounted (example: the 455 is $120 off). That leaves the 440, 450, and the 460. I assume the discounted models will be discontinued thus trimming their line-up somewhat.

I cant imagine husky not selling the 455 rancher anymore. It dont matter that its not a 'pro" model saw, it is one of husqvarnas best selling products.

If you think about it, it does seem a little silly to have a 455 and a 460 Rancher. They are pretty well the same saw.

Aren't they coming out with a larger rancher to supercede the 460?

Maybe 65 cc rancher? I have no exp with the smaller 400 series saws, but it sounds like the 445 is a popular saw.

    That is what I heard.

I wouldn't be too surprised if they crash the 445. Consider that the 440, 445, 450 are all on the same chassis. Most either want the cheaper saw (440) or the more powerful saw (450) so the 445 is a compromise.

They have the new auto tune Rancher.. So I would assume they will be thinning one of the two models. And the 460 can still run a 24" if needed.

    Doesn't the 460 come standard with a 24" bar and the 455 has a 20"?

    I thought 460 came with 20 and 455 with 18.

You could time a 460/24" with a sundial rather than a stop watch.

Yes it's a great saw, all of those smaller 400 series are.

I've had some time behind the 400's. Owned a 450 and a 435 for a while. Long gone and since replaced with xp's. A friend of mine still uses a 435 and a 455. That 455 is one very unimpressive saw. Trying to convince him every chance I get to upgrade.

Not surprised they would slim the line. 2 saws with that 41cc motor, 435 & 440 so cut one of 'em. And the 455 and the 460 just seem too close for the homeowners.

DexterDay , I don't think they make an autotune rancher.

They do make auto tune. Had problems from what I've heard.

    Yes.

Not sure if it's the same teething issues like the 550/562 or something different. I've heard much less about their issues as pro saw users are much more vocal than homeowners when a saw isn't running up to snuff.

Weren't the original 460's (over)rated at 3.8 hp? I see they are now 3.62 hp.

If you search on YouTube for autotune 455 Rancher you'll see a video on it. I think they were out a couple years ago but were dropped, at least in NA.
