Found a deal on what was decribed as a 372 XP NIB for $650. Turned out to be the 576 XP AutoTune with a hard case. Tanks are still dry from the factory. 24" .058 bar Hopefully get some pictures up tonight.
Outta the box. Filled up. Oiler adjusted to WFO. After cutting a 4' maple log into cookies. Cut another slot into the carrying rack. Seems to pull the stock 24" bar okay. I still think a 395 class saw is in my future.
Those 576 will pull a 32-34" bar in hardwoods pretty nicely. Not quite a 395 but they'll do for every now and then like that. I ran a 32" on the one I had a good bit.
Yeah it didn't idle at all when I first started it. Local dealer guy said run it at fast idle for a minute then find a log and give it hell. Ran better after that. I have heard they get better after a few tanks. Thirsty little bugger that is for sure!
About 10 tanks in and a muffler mod, let us know what ya think... They are one of, if not the smoothest saws out there... Virtually no vibes... Even if they look a little "fluffy"...

It will take it a few minutes to find itself. They get good mileage compared to others. A 395 will go through fuel in as little as 9 cuts bucking.
Yes the saw does run extremely smooth. I spent a significant amount of time in the UP and that style of saw carrier is fairly common. Never seen anyone else in Minnesota do it that way. But when people see it they like it. I have only seen one saw bend a bar, and that was mounted on a full caged rock buggy. The severe bouncing around with a 32" 395 that wasn't all the way down in the slot bent the bar at the mid point. Never had a saw get damaged that was properly stowed and mounted on a sane vehicle. I will try to get a video posted up. Might have some time tomorrow afternoon.
No video yet. Ran two tanks through it since the weekend. Idle was a little inconsistent at first but seems to be getting better. I would have to rev it several times after a cut, other wise it would stall.
