Looking for someone with more knowledge to give me some tips related to adjusting the carburetor on my 2014 Husky 445.
This spring I paid a shop to look at my carburetor. Instead of rebuilding it they replaced it with a genuine Husqvarna carburetor. It was running well right after that but then stopped sparking. I tracked that down to the ignition module.
I recent replaced the ignition module, spark plug, air filter and fuel filter.. It starts right up but then runs like poo.
I found a carburetor adjustment guide on the Husqvarna website and tried those steps without much success. What I'm wondering now is does anyone have a baseline setting for the three screws? for instance gently bottom them out and then turn out 1 1/2 turns or whatever. then fine tune from there. I know on many other engines those types of numbers are published but I can't find them for this saw. I would like to figure this out instead of going back to a shop. I'm pretty sure that it is an adjustment problem at this point. I have attached the carburetor section of the guide I found.

As far as I know 1.25-1.5 is baseline for everything. That’s what a small engine mechanic told me

after searching for a shop manual online I found these instructions and will try them tomorrow. No need to fire up a saw tonight and make my neighbors think I'm any crazier than they already do. :) Image 12-23-23 at 8.21 PM.jpeg

I found a video that seemed like a good mechanic posted that said 1 1/2 turns so I split the difference at 1 3/4 turns. Saw started right up and ran way better. Then I adjusted it a bit. Seemed like the throttle was sticking a bit and not always returning to idle as quick as it should. I popped the cover off and put a couple drops of PB Blaster on the cable and a couple other points. That made it snap back to idle like it should. I might purchase a pro line tachometer to set the H screw at 12,500 to 13,000 rpm. Regardless it is running way better now.
