I have a Husqvarna 254 XP and it's been sitting for quite a while and I'd like to know if anyone can help me find the part number on the carburetor so I can swap it out. It stopped oiling about 7 years ago so I thought it was an internal problem but it turned out that switching to a 20-in bar was the cause because the bar was the wrong one. So I fixed that problem but now it doesn't idle.
Most of the online parts sellers that deal OEM have the factory part diagrams, which will get you a part #. Put your model in here: https://www.ereplacementparts.com/h...kGlnacOLpywkhAwy7eLCm6hT3zVK2fJhoCOacQAvD_BwE A few clicks and you should find what you’re looking for.
I tried this site it only gives me the carburetor number for the 254 not the XP version so I'm not sure if I order it it will work and it is not cheap they want $275 for the carburetor so I don't want to make a mistake.
Partstree is another site I’ve used for older Husqvarna parts. I’d also google carb for 254xp. You might could find a used one.
Pull the old one and order as such. There are identifying numbers on it, that way you’re sure to get the right one.
Thanks for your help guys I'm going to take it apart and get the number off though carb and start there.
